Detailed Product Information:
Planted in 2016, in the Bordeaux white appellation, the Cuvée Anthoinette from Château Castera was born with the 2019 vintage. Its name tributes to Antoinette de Montaigne, niece of the famous philosopher Michel de Montaigne who owned the château in the 17th century and who signed the first official bill of wine’ sale from the property in January 21st, 1616. This official bill is exhibited in the medieval tower of the Château.
Anthoinette represents 1 hectare in 100% Sauvignon Blanc, the harvest is done manually from the sunrise to preserve the freshness of the grapes. The bunches are immediately pressed away from oxygen to preserve aromas. The vinification of Anthoinette is made in barrels for 4 months with regular stirring.
